JointBox Room Unit
Operation Principle
Room Unit is a multifunctional device mounted within the interior. It hosts its own ESP32 microcontroller unit, which connects to Home Assistant wirelessly or via CAN BUS.
Room unit provides accurate sensor readings from each room, and also acts as a system extender by relaying IR and Bluetooth control commands to the local devices. Using these sensor readings you can create simple and advanced automations.
It is powered by DC 12V or DC 5V and is always-on.
Design Features
Densely-packed multisensor; the only one you need in the room. Features: Motion - Occupancy - Illuminance - Ambient Noise - Temperature - Humidity - VOC Air Pollution - CO2
Room unit is powered by DC line (wired, can use ethernet cable) and is connected to the network via WiFi or CAN Bus (wired)
Room unit hosts Bluetooth Low Energy, as well as infrared receiver + transmitter. This lets you interact with Bluetooth controlled devices installed in room via the room unit, and also capture and replay IR control signals. With IR transmitter, for example, you can add your old Air Conditioner to the automations like a smart device!
